Fiber Optic Internet

Does the speed and reliability of my fiber optic service depend on my homes' location in the network?
No. Unlike DSL services, the distance from the source (CO) has no bearing on your quality of service.

When a lot of people are on the fiber optic network at the same time, will my Internet speed slow down?
No. Salsgiver Fiber Optic Service provides very consistent speeds, even during times of peak internet usage.

Is Fiber Optic internet service faster than cable and DSL?
Yes! Depending on your existing service, download and upload speeds from Salsgiver Fiber Optic can be 10 times faster or even more!

What is burstable speed?
Burstable speed configurations are used by several of Salsgivers competitors. Burstable speed give the appearance of faster speeds by only allowing very fast speeds within the first few seconds of every download. But for longer downloads, the burstable speed configuration lowers the download speeds to help manage the limited data capacities of DSL and Cable data systems.

Does Salsgiver offer the burstable speed feature?
No. When Salsgiver quotes your download and upload speeds, we're giving it to you straight! 15 Mbps download speed with Salsgiver means 15 Mbps all the time.

Is there any limit on how large of an email attachment I can send or receive?
No. Salsgiver does not limit email file attachment sizes. Many other service providers limit email attachments to as little as 5 mb or less.

How many email addresses do I get?
Residential accounts can have up to 5 free email addresses and business accounts can have up to 25 addresses. Need more email addresses? Please contact us at 1-888-674-4375 or sales@salsgiver.com for additional packages and pricing options.

What happens if my power goes out?
Every Salsgiver Fiber customer gets a power supply with a backup battery that maintains your VoIP phone connectivity for approximately 8 hours during extended power outages. The power supply is plugged into an ac outlet in your home and powers the Fiber Optic conversion box mounted on the outside of your home. If you loose power to your home, the back up battery automatically provides power to the fiber optic conversion box and will maintain your VoIP phone connectivity for approximately 8 hours (less time when sending or receiving Internet data).

Fiber Optic VoIP Phone

Can I keep my existing phone number?
Yes! Salsgiver can "port" your number so you can keep your existing phone number.

Can I use my existing phones with Salsgiver VoIP phone service?
Yes. The Fiber interface box that is installed on the outside of your house has a standard phone jack connector. Our service technicians simply plug in your existing house phone line into the fiber box and your phones work the same way as they did with your traditional telephone company service.

Many phone service providers charge extra for basic features like voicemail, call forwarding and call waiting. Does Salsgiver charge extra for these basic services?
No. Salsgiver VoIP phone service includes voicemail, call waiting and call forwarding for no additional charge.

Will VoIP phone service sound as good as my current service with the phone company?
Yes! Fiber Optic provides maximum data capacity and the system is designed to automatically provide full quality of service (QOS) so no matter how much data you may be downloading or uploading on the Internet, your voice service is never in competition with your data.

Is Salsgiver Fiber Optic VoIP better than the other VoIP services?
Yes, in the sense that the Salsgiver Fiber Optic network has great capacity, eliminating the need for the voice data to compete with the internet data so your voice won't drop or cut out as it could on a lower data rate service.

What happens when the power goes out?
Every Salsgiver Fiber customer gets a power supply with a backup battery that maintains your connectivity for at least 8 hours during extended power outages.
